The primrose, its name derived from the Latin primus, meaning 'first', heralds the arrival of Spring as one of the first flowers to bloom each year. Once used in love potions during the Middle Ages, a gift of primroses had grown to mean "I can't live without you" in Victorian Era floriography. The flourish of silver-laced primroses adorning the heart celebrates youth, love, and the promise of new beginnings.
